Pool Rolling '09

Pool Rolling Goucher College from Susanita on Vimeo

I just installed the newest version of Apple’s iLife ’09 on my Mac. And here is one result ... themes for iMovie. It also has an image stabilization feature and more sophisticated editing features. I used the film theme for this video. This is a short video ... about 2 minutes ... and in no way meant to be an instructional video on how to do the sweep and C to C roll. I’m sure the experts can find many errors in our technique. This is just for fun.

Smoking is Dangerous

Smoking is Dangerous from Susanita on Vimeo

I was cleaning out my library on iPhoto getting ready for this year’s events and I came across this old clip from our kayaking trip to the Exumas. I haven’t been kayaking outside but Rob and I have been working on our eskimo rolls in the pool. A few weekends ago we had one of those rare warm February days and we did an organized bike ride with Potomac Pedalers. I even used the clipless pedals for the first time. And I only fell over twice. The first time I fell on the grass. The second time I fell on the pavement. Fortunately the only thing that was bruised was my ego.

EarthTreks Bouldering Comp

EarthTreks Climbing Competition 2009 from Susanita on Vimeo

When it’s too cold to paddle, too cold to bike, and the snow is scant or nonexistent, it’s time to focus on gym climbing. Rob has been making great improvements in his climbing technique. It’s taken months of yelling at him to keep his arms straight and use his legs to push up instead of pulling himself up with his arms. But there is progress.

Last Friday Earthreks, where we climb, had a bouldering competition and Rob’s coworker Walter competed. I did the video and Rob spliced it together in this very cute video featuring an “older climber.” Special thanks to Brad Sucks, a one man band with no fans, for the music. And yes, I did pay for it!
